Weights not coming off

Weighing yourself is not best option, for those who are a bit obessive that scale dictats your day? Stop!! When I had RNY in 99 my Dr. Told me not to buy a scale. I get weighed enough at my appointments and he was RIGHT! We all have bloat, constipation, periods and the daily flucutatuion is a mental rollercoaster. I beleive in being a positive mindset by how you feel,, somedays icky somedays great. Your weight is coming off and the pace isnt all that important at this stage. At 6 months start with once a week..... If you cant stop yourself from weighing daily i suggest you ask a friend to hold your scale at their house or in there car. Hope that helps

Stay off the scale. Just weigh about every one to two weeks until you get a better mind set about the situation or you will drive yourself nuts. I can weigh every day and not get disappointed but I am 8 months in and understand how this thing works. Do not let it freak you out. YOu are going to have stalls that will last a couple of weeks and you will have delays that will last a few days. Sometimes we eat something that makes us maintain water or we do not drink enough water and swell a little. Sometimes our bodies have to play catch up.  It could even be PMS. So do not be discouraged. This surgery works. Just relax and do not obsess about the scale. =)

Dear.  Sweet.  Baby.  Jesus.    Please stay off the scale.  Did you weigh yourself every day while you were GAINING this weight?  I didn't think so.  So box up the scale, put it away, and don't weigh. 

 

Now, are you getting in at LEAST 90 grams of protein per day?  Obsess about THAT instead.  Obsess about getting in all your water per day.  Google how the human body metabolizes stored fat and learn how the by-products of this process are washed out of the body.  It will give you a whole new perspective on why we old people harp and harp and HARP about drinking water and lots of it during the weight loss phase. 

 

Finally, you do NOT need to know a number on a scale to see you are losing weight.  Pretty soon your underwear will be falling down every time you turn around.  Summer will come and you won't be able to wear last summer's clothes.  Get yourself to Goodwill and buy some interim summer clothes.  Because the summer after this, THOSE clothes won't fit you either. 

 

Have you ever heard some say "A watched pot never boils"?  Same thing with the scale.  Same thing with the clock.  Don't focus on a stupid appliance that shows you irrelevant numbers.  You are more than a number.  Rachel, you are beautiful.  Now go window shopping for the new underwear you will soon need.
