Blood test results

After much waiting and asking I finally got my pre op test results and my 6 month test results. Most things are normal but I do notice they have all trended downward. Is that a red flag that I should start upping my dosages? My Vitamin D was high 110, PTH was high 80.2, Alkaline Phosphatase was high 214, B12 was over 3500, Prealbumin was low 10.?, MCHC was low 31.7. Any suggestions?

Calcium can be normal but it only means you might be taking calcium from your bones and now it's floating around in your blood stream. It could be that the PTH is high but will start coming sown as soon as it recognizes you have plenty of D3 and calcium in your system. What you want to see on your labs is PTH around 26, vitamin D3 around 100 (110 isn't too bad but you could probably skip a day), and calcium around 9.2. How much calcium are you taking a day and what kind is it?

You could probably cut your B12 down to 3 times a week if you're taking it daily now.

Low prealbumin may indicate you're not getting enough protein in your daily diet. What is really important is that your albumin be in the 4s and your protein serum be close to 7.0. You want prealbumin near the top of the range.

The other labs you mention are ones I don't track closely and don't have any background on.

How about your hemoglobin, hematocrit, ferritin and iron serum? Were they trending down from pre-op? How much iron and what kind are you taking now?

You really want to watch the ones that are trending down. Are any of those anything you want to show us?

That probably isn't enough iron a day. The only way I got mine up was on 300mg of Tender iron, which is carbonyl and probably what you're taking from Celebrate, just not enough. I also took 2 Proferrin tablets snapped in two at bedtime. It's heme iron. So, the combo of irons and the right dose helped.

That might not be taking enough calcium. Can you increase the dose to 2 capsules each time and reduce the frequency to 4 times a day?

I take 2 capsules 3 times a day. Do you think I should take 2 capsules 4 times a day? Where do you get your iron and what brands?

300mg of carbonyl iron or Vitalady's Tender iron and 2 or more tablets of Proferrin. You might be able to get a prescription for Proferrin Forte. The only difference in the forte and the ES, you can get over the counter, is the forte has folic acid in it. I take the Tender iron in the afternoons away from everything else and the Proferrin at bedtime or later. The Proferrin you want to snap into two pieces and take them all at once.

Yes, 2 capsules 4 times a day. I only give an hour or so between doses of various vitamins and such since our transit time is so much faster than a normie.  I buy everything from Vitalady.

There is a way to specifically take the iron and calcium to make sure you absorb it. She tells you on her charts.
