Not losing
Hi, I was sleeved in March of 2012 with no luck. I had my DS November 7 and I've only lost 17 lbs. I've never lost my presurgery appetite and I'm hungry. I didn't get resleeved with the DS and I think that's part of the problem, but the dr said I didn't need it. I can eat what I want when I want with no problems. Can anyone relate?
If you weren't resleeved (and you shouldn't need to be on such a short time), your stomach has no healing to do, so it makes sense that you kept your appetite. The revisions lose slower than the virgin DSers, but you're seeing loss, so obviously, something's working. Just follow your guidelines of high protein and low carb to keep that synergy going.

When they don't re-sleeve, you don't get the initial dramatic weight loss. However, if you keep your cals down and focus on proteins and some fatsm during the first year, you should continue losing. Also, of course, need to exercise. Address malabsorption issues, with a "mature" sleeve, with a vet...

if you are hungry,I suggest you eat all the dense protein, meat, that you can. Also, eggs, cheese and other high fat foods. Fat makes us feel full and since we don't absorb all of it we eat,we need to eat more.
if you are eating carbs like pasta, bread, wraps,or high sugar foods even fruit,it might affect you weight loss,as we absorb all the calories from them. Also, carbs will. Make you more hungry.

I ment to mention I just had a revision. By DR David Greembaum.
The 1st surgery i had it showed on my endscopy , that my stomach was not reduce enough. and he was able to see the diff between stretching out you tummy of if neglgent fell on the dr.
The 1st Dr did admitt it wasnt small enough. but he assured me i still could loose weight. yes with the help of diet pills.
The pyloric valve stays intact with the DS.
To the OP: Revisions usually lose a little slower than virgin DSers. How much did you lose with the VSG? What was your starting weight and your goal weight? If you are now considered a lightweight, that could also be a reason for the perception of slower weight loss.

hello . How are. I know it is frustrating loosing weight slow. Trust me I been there 2/7/2007 I had the RNY.
I only lost 50 pound with taking diet pills. come to find out , my dr. didnt reduce my pouch small enough. I did everything that i was suppose to do . work out 6 days a week. I would gain and loose. but I didnt recognise that even though I lost 50 pounds I drop 10 dress sizes as well. On December 16, I had a revision of the RNY but he remove the pyloric valve to reduce my hunger and speed up the weight loss and he also rerouted my intestine. on the 12/15 I weighed 260. 12/31 which was yesterday I weigh 232. I cried and was so happy. But Iam sure next month comes I will have a slower weight lost. Dont get discourage stay strong i know we all want to loose 100lb over night. But its impossible. everyone metabolism works different . some faster then other or some slower then other. Be strong before you know you will drop 75lb.
