Shouldn't be a problem. Are you talking something mild like Triaminic? I hope you feel better.

Thanks Gina....yes something mild.  I was just worried about the amount of sugar in the syrup.  But my pain medicine was similar so I'm thinking it should be ok?

Is the cough in your chest? Mucinex D comes in pill form and that will help you avoid the sugar - though if you aren't up to taking pills yet then probably no go. If the congestion hasn't settled in your chest then the mucinex probably won't help a ton because it's an expectorant.  the D (dextromethorafan) part is cough suppressant but I don't know if they make that alone in pill form. Hope you get feeling better soon!!!!

Sugar, while it's not good for you, won't hurt you. Your stomach still functions just like it did before surgery.
