Are there any DS surgeons in FL?

Last I looked, a year ago, I couldn't find ONE.  I'm wondering if anyone in here knows of any in FL?  Thank you in advance.

I haven't heard of any in FL. There's Dr Smith in Atlanta and Dr Sudan in Durham, NC.

There used to be a vetted one, but he moved out of state.  I can't recall his name but did hear that he's considered a flake.

Unfortunately, the surgeons mentioned by Kdiva, while experienced bariatric surgeons, do not offer the Ds. I wish there were someone in Fla that I could recommend, or even name, but there isn't. You will need to travel, but the effort is worth it to get the surgery with the best statistics of any bariatric surgery for percentage excess weight loss, for MAINTENANCE of that weight loss, and for resolution of almost all comorbidities. Don't let distance from home be the deciding factor!

 

The list of DS surgeons at dsfacts is in the process of being updated, but it still won't have anyone in Fla. The closest to you will be Dr. Smith in GA and Dr. Sudan in NC, both of whom are very well regarded.

Chicago - yes! Drs. Prachand and Alverdy are well known in the DS community. Check them out!

Re: Dr. Rosenthal, I checked out his page here on OH, and he doesn't even list the DS as an operation that he does. I know you would like to stay close to home, but it just isn't reality.

Smith in Atlanta is prolly the best choice in terms of FL....

Actually all 3 performs the DS......there's a member that just had the DS done by Dr Hoddinott about 3 weeks ago. I agree the travel for the DS is so worth it. Unfortunately for me my insurance mandates I have it in FL. .....sucks for me!!!
