Despite the insurance companies personal vendetta against women changing their names, I have succeeded!! Today I got word of my..... New Surgery Date!!!!!! I'm super excited!! I knew I would be reinstated and I knew they would be switching me shortly! Anyways, yes there are still a few hurdles I will have to cross, but he'll they are welcomed. Why, you might ask because I have already overcame everyone who hopes to have this surgeries worst nightmare. You know... Surgery being canceled after all plans are in motion aka your en route to your surgery destination. LOL Yea, that has already happened so it can't get any worse.

So I have new set of troubles. I scheduled my surgery in December because I don't have class that month. However, since I don't have any classes, my mother always heads home for the holidays. So then I wouldn't have had her here with me to help out but my kiddies were going to my mother-in-love's for my healing. But it would have been a bit difficult to be recovering during the holidays. Well with the new surgery date, it is right at the being of the winter quarter and I'm not sure how to go about just starting my quarter, healing, and getting used to the new changes my body will experience. I'm trying to get all online courses but everything is basically full. Good news is my mother will be back but my kiddies are still going to the mother-in-love's. I'm trying not to stress about healing and school but I like making the dean's list and I am sooooo close to graduation in the spring!

I still believe 2014 will be a good year I'm just trying to remain calm about my successes with my weight and graduation but I'm paranoid something else will go wrong. Like the old saying goes "if it isn't one thing, it's another!" I digress, I do want to thank you all for being so supportive to me even though we are strangers. It's so much easier for me be open and express myself here and I'm so thankful that this is a kind, warm, and easily receptive place to converse with others In the same situation! I like to think that we share different routes to the same journey!

Congrats!  How long after your surgery would you be starting class?  I started a brand new job 8 weeks post-op and did just fine.  I'm sure I could have handled college at about 4 weeks out as long as my schedule wasn't rigorous.  But I was SO tired all the time for a while, and I napped almost every day.  Just make sure you give yourself enough time to heal before jumping into anything else.  Those first few weeks were a complete blur of sleeping and nausea for me.  Good luck!

Honestly that's were my reservations begin. In a quarter system, we only get 10 weeks. So the less I miss, the better. Truthfully, I only want to miss two weeks. The good thing is that I have one online course, one face to face course, and I'm wait listing for another online course. My face to face course is only two days a week and 1 1/2 long. But if I can't get in my wait listed course I have a back up that's one day a week and it is on one of the days as the other class. So that means I will have class twice on only one day but the one day class is over 3 hrs long. So that's a problem...... With graduation coming and I only actually have two more classes to graduate, it's just that those two courses aren't offered in the same quarter so I have to take one this quarter and one next quarter so withdrawing is out of the question. And I'm in love with good grades, so I want to do my best. Do you think that it would be possible to attend my classes and rest up before or after, I mean it's just an hour and a half.... Can't be too bad I'm thinking. As for the 3 hr class, I can leave early if need be. Essentially I can leave early for any course as long as my professor knows in advance, so she won't thinking I'm bailing out from boredom!

Congrats on your new surgery date!

There is never a perfect time for this sort of thing. There is always something to deal with, and it sounds like you have thought things through and have a good plan in place. You will do fine.
