Rehab for Bad Group Experience

I just want to say that I am coming off a virulent DS Board situation, where I offended the wrong people before I even knew what was happening. I tried to make amends, but each time, it just made things worse. I am very low and questioning if tmy DS Higher Power is telling me to stop my revision procedure. If I somehow offend you, assume it is unintentional and challenge me (preferably privately) as I do not want to get off to a bad start. Has anyone else had a DS group problem? Were you able to resolve it? I would welcome any info you can provide? I wan't to make good friends and be a positive source on this board. Thanks...Rick

Depending on the group, sometimes it's just best to walk away. Try to remember their advice and leave the rest of the hostilities behind.

Unfortunately I think some people use the anonymous forums for a place to let themselves be rude and obnoxious, and sometimes very aggressive.    I agree, walk away from that forum and don't let that experience determine if you should have the DS or not.  It is totally up to you, your family and your doctor.  It's your health, not someone else's comments, that this is about.  Chin up, ok?

I have read about your situation on the other board.  I do not post much....either here or there, but wanted to chime in and let you know I feel for you & wish you all the best.  Do not let anyone deter you from getting good health!  I have not had a problem on either board....but I am more of a reader/researcher & find most of the answers to my questions by reading current & back posts.  Good luck to you & happy holidays!

Thanks. This is my second surgery and I ran into similar power-control groups before. It is hard, when you make a negative entrance (unknowingly) to a group, to ever get forgiven. It gets rolling and you just can't stop it. That is the problem I am having. No matter what I do or say, it's set in stone... there are many nice people but the core group controls the board and you are either in or you're out. Hard to feel comfortable, when you never know when you will be brought into some humiliating conflict...

With lots of good advise already said..... I agree with dont let your decision to get the DS be derailed by someone being a jerk, on another site. There are sites that seem to have the rep of certain individuals that do this to others quite often... I guess they get some kind of sick pleasure from it. I believe they see themselves as "DS rebels" of some sort..... They go from post to post with a bit of knowledge and a sharp tongue, and spew their venom freely, without a care in the world. Its unfortunate that they choose to do it at all, let alone on a site that is meant to help people with medical, and personal issues related to such an intense surgery. Please take it with a grain of salt, stay focused on the information you came for, or support needed, and simply forget about it. We both know that there are "ALOT OF NUTS OUT THERE" Goodluck, and god bless.....

I received a message from someone that this thread is being monitored, so I guess I am SOL no matter what I do. How do people have power across boards? That doesn't seem right...

I imagine they meant it was being viewed people who are primarily on other sites.
