Help me out with malapsorption #'s...

I'm confused about how I would go about including our malapsorption factor into my daily calorie count. I know as a general rule we absorb roughly 60% protein, 20% fat, and 100% carbs & sugars. How would I go about calculating, say, peanut-butter?

Smucker's Organic Peanut-butter
Calories 210
Calories from Fat 144
Total Fat 16.0g
Saturated Fat 2.5g
Cholesterol 0mg
Sodium 50mg
Carbohydrates 6.0g
Dietary Fiber 2.0g
Sugars 1.0g
Protein 8.0g

So in the case of this peanut-butter, I would calculate...
Total fat: 16g divided by 20% = 3.2
Protein: 8g divided by 60% = 4.8

Is this correct? What about calories? How do I know how many calories I malabsorb? I'm so confused.

(# grams fat x 9) x .20 = approximate number fat calories absorbed

(# grams net carbs (net carbs are total carbs minus fiber and sugar alcohols) x 4) x .60 = approximate number carb calories absorbed

(# grams protein x 4) x .60 = approximate number of protein calories absorbed

Your peanut butter:

(16 x 9) x .20 = 28.8 fat calories

(4 x 4) x .60 = 9.6 carb calories

(8 x 4) x .60 = 19.2 protein calories

Total calories absorbed (approximate): 57.6

First goal 120.0: 12/7/13  Final goal 115.0 (114.6):  2/6/14

0.0 Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? What are all those #'s incorporated? I know that 1 carb equals 4 calories, but for the carbs/protein, why do you do the "x .60" and not "-60%"? Or is it the same thing? Oh my... I have a LOT to learn!
And I've always wondered... When calculating the net carbs, why do we subtract fiber and sugar alcohols? They don't matter? Or we don't absorb them?
Thanks so much for all your help!

Well I was watching the scale creep up and that's unacceptable, so I need to figure out what's going on.

Try counting carbs instead of calories then.  Protein dense foods are high in calories and fat, and you don't want to cut back on those.  Simple carbs are the key to stopping losing and gaining.

Calorie counting is so 1980's.

Don't count calories...count grams...Make sure the first 30 grams you eat every meal/snack is protein based. Make sure you get enough fat, remember you don't absorb about 80% of the fat you ingest. IF you have room left over, then go to the complex carbs. Stay away from simple carbs, white based carbs, etc. Simple carbs include sugar!

I was looking for the *like* button.  Yep, just count the protein and go from there.

Well that's not working for me, so I need to figure out what's going on.
