Hair Loss/Extra Skin
So this coming January 7th will be my one year since my surgery. I have lost a total of 160 lbs since surgery and I seem to still be loosing it pretty regularly. I still have 60 some lbs to go, which seem so weird to think about but I can tell you I am so very happy to be where I am at verses where I was. I am taking my vitamins like I was instructed, and I get plenty of water and protein through out the day. I do however I two issues that seem to not be getting any better.
1) My hair loss. At first it wasn't so bad. By the 3rd to 4th month I could tell a difference and decided to cut it to my shoulders so it would look fuller than it really was. By the 10 th month it was so thin others started noticing and asking if I was ok. I have it pretty short now so as to not be so noticeable, but I am loosing it more now that I did at the start. I have read some of the post as to how others have said that by a year mark it should slow down... Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice?
2) Extra skin... I know we all deal with this one too. I am not sure how to tighten it... I could be an extra size if not two sizes smaller in pants and shirts if the extra skin was not there... I've been told a few different things.. Like not to worry about plastic surgery at least until after the second year. Along with a surgen wont even look at someone unless you are under 200 lbs. Is any of this true? Also if anyone has had it done that lives near or around Idaho, and would recommend them... please let me know.. Plus any advice would be helpful...
Thank you!

Telogen Effluvium should have slowed down by now (that's the hair loss) from the surgery. At more than a year out, I'd be looking your labs. You say you take vitamins like instructed, but what all are you taking? How much protein are you getting? What do your labs look like (don't accept the nurse telling you you're fine-know yourownself) The standard set of questions apply here. My concern is malnutrition at this point, but you could be an exception to the duration of the hair loss.
- Skin is a tricky one and nothing that can be predicted or treated except surgically, so don't fall victim to magical potions, creams or exercises. Instead, try out some lycra shapers. They make a huge difference in smoothing out the bumps and turning them into curves. Get a size larger than you need so you don't feel like a sausage.
- For plastics, they suggest you be at a stable weight for at least 6 months. The last thing you want to do is get plastics, then lose another 50lbs and feel all loose and ugly again.
