DS Surgeons

I'm looking for DS surgeons. I've already looked on DSFACTS.COM...........however I know there are others that perform this surgery that isn't listed. Please provide me with any information that you can including but not limited to name, number, website , reviews......TiA for any help 

The DS is more complicated than your standard RNY or Band.  Most of the docs who do these surgeries don't have the needed experience doing the DS.  I'm not saying they couldn't, but most don't.  The surgeons listed on dsfacts do the DS.  If they aren't listed there you can bet they have done few DS surgeries.

Many of us traveled for surgery and you may have to as well.  Some of us even went to other countries.  You may have to travel too.

Kdiva, the closest DS surgeon to you is in the metro Atlanta area. I do not know of ANY in FL, SC, Alabama, etc. We have one vetted in NC but I've heard of another not vetted and not sure he's still even doing the DS. There is a wealth of DS surgeons in TN, Nashville AND Knoxville. (wealth is more than 1, LOL I think the total in TN is 4)

There are so few surgeons in the world that do the DS, that many have to travel to get it.  The good news is that these surgeons are good about partnering with your PCP for after-care.  Plan on a 2 week stay local to the doc and your PCP can handle it from there.  Whatever you do, though, do not let a surgeon convince you that a distal RNY yields the same results as a DS.

it is imperative to go to an experienced DS surgeon, even if you must travel to do so.  The experienced surgeons can perform the very difficult surgery, and are experienced in the right mix of stomach size for restriction, with common channel length for lifelong malabsorption.  

Please use caution if considering the discount rate surgeons who claim to have done many DS surgeries, but then either switch you to a lesser surgery, or perform a substandard DS with resulting complications.  There is a reason these doctors are not listed on DS Facts.com

research well, your surgery and your surgeon, then cut once!
