Could I have already stretched my stomach?

I am 2-1/2 weeks post op. I started puréed solids in my first week, as soon as I was able to get 64 oz in every day and about a week later, after I could get 100 G protein in every day from food, I started taking my full vitamin regimen from VitaLady.  I can literally take 3 big gulps of liquids, Maybe this is stupid, but I see others still struggling to get liquids in at 2-1/2 weeks out. I haven't lost any weight at all the past week and I'm worried I've progressed too fast. Should I slow down? Back up a few steps? I'm not working out yet. I still get too tired too easily. Thoughts?

I would slow down on the dense food a bit, but that's just me and my fear of stretching my stomach. It could be that you're still healing and not getting the full signals from your recently stitched sleeve. Can you use a protein supplement for some of that protein and not pressure your stomach?

Yes, I think that's a good idea. I'll take a step back to soups and protein drinks to see if that helps. When does the weight start coming off usually?

You should start seeing it come off after the first couple of weeks to a month...on the scales. I didn't "see it" for some time.

I'm a pound down from yesterday, so that's good. I got stuck at 322 for a while. Thanks for the advice! Off to make some egg drop soup for breakfast!

Do not weigh yourself every day.  That is one of the most discouraging things you can do.  I weigh myself every Tuesday morning.  As before surgery, or bodies fluctuate from day to day and a loss yesterday with a gain today can really throw you.  I used to weigh myself all the time to the point of getting up during the night to see what the difference between that weight and my morning (like 7:00am) would be.  Please give yourself time to heal, to adjust to the new configuration of your innards and don't put high expectations on yourself.  It was a couple months post-op before anyone noticed my weight loss, even though I had lost nearly 30 lbs.  My clothes were looser, but others didn't see it.  Best of luck, and happy healing!

The funny thing is I'm totally fine weighing once a week....unless I don't lose anything one week then I can't stay off the damn scale! I found out today my common channel is longer than most, so that's probably why. I'm absorbing more. Not quite sure how to adjust for that yet.

Do you know what size your surgeon made your sleeve? I've heard of a few patients, I believe of Dr. Anthone or perhaps Dr. Gagner (I can't remember at this time), who were given longer cc's and smaller sleeves. They seemed to have good stats and long term maintenance. Don't despair.

It's weird. When it comes to my vites, I get full on 5 pills. I can eat 4-5 crackers. I can eat a can of tuna. Oddly it depends on the food I eat. Like egg drop soup, for example, I can eat 2 cups in a sitting. Cream soups, I can only handle 1 cup.

It should be in your surgical report. The surgeon usually uses a sizing guide and one would think that he would've mentioned it. They can range from a 32 French bougie to the upper 40's. Mine is a 46. Def go back to sipping and taking good care to let your sleeve heal and don't put any undue stress on it.
