Is it supposed to be this bad in the beginning?

I do have a high pain tolerance, I have MS so I have learned to live with a lot of pain.  This pain is pretty intense.  I rate this way worse than my Lap Hysterectomy that turned into open and required 4 units of blood. Way worse. Plus pain pills make me sick to my stomach, so today..very nauseous but much less pain.

some people have very little pain and complications then some people like me are almost 6 weeks and feel like of **** I still feel, like **** I was saying I'll take being fat, again for 200, Alex. Ive had gallbladder surgery, open rny, 2 c sections, abdominalplasty and several back surgeries and this surgery has knocked me on my azz for real. I just keep saying even though it's a tiny little bit of progress I AM GETTING BETTER. Most people feel good at 6 weeks. Press towards the mark. It will be worth it.

Yes, sounds pretty typical to me!

Focus on fluids. Eat a couple little bites if you can and don't sweat it if you can't. It WILL get better!

And by the way, ADEK's are useless. They contain the right components but not enough of any of them to compensate for the malabsorption we have. It'sok not to take any vitamins for a few weeks, you body has vitamins and protein stored up to get you through this difficult time. But after about 3 weeks you need to get going on multivits, calcium citrate, and the "dry" forms of D, A, and K (I have never heard of vitamin E deficiency). You can purchase them from Vitalady or directly from the manufacturer (Biotech). but if you rely on those ADEKs you will end up with vitamin deficiencies.

Thanks Larra! The ADEKs are way less than I usually take of Vit D for my MS as well. I will be getting some new meds.

I hate to piggy back on your thread, but can one add protein whey isolate into chicken broth, or is that just way too icky?

No worries about piggybacking :)  I added plain protein powder to homemade chicken soup - ewwwww.  Protein powder does not like heat.
