Juicing

Can we benefit from juicing?  I was wondering because I know it benefits normal intestines, but I'm not sure what happens with us.

Any advice?

Nothing wrong with it, you just have to be really really mindful of the carbs. Green leafy juices would probably be best. The best fruits would be things like strawberries but again be mindful of the carbs.

Eating the whole fruit/vegetable is always a better choice than juice.  For anyone, not just us. Juice is loaded with sugar and probably even normies would be better off without it.  I guess if that's the only way you would eat a veggie, it's probably better than nothing.  Interesting theory out there now is that juice teaches babies to want sugar more than anything else.  I have a friend who had a child a few years back and she was adamant that her baby have nothing sweet till he liked and willingly ate vegetables/savory foods.  Sweet foods were introduced last.  It worked.  He eats almost all veggies with none of the picky eater /always crying for sweets thing.  Only baby I ever saw with tomato juice in his bottle!

So true.  I've read this in many different places.  Juice is great if you can't get veggies in, and you make your own (I own a juicer, which I never use) but drinking fruit juices is just adding sugar to your diet.

I agree with the eat the whole fruit/ veggie camp. Juicing is really just another fad diet.

I don't see a lot of value in it - especially if you're thinking fruits.  It's just a vehicle to ingest way more sugars than you ought to in the first place.  The only thing I'd use it for with veggies would be a good soup base to add meat to, but we have V8 for that.

I too want to know if juicing is okay. I started juicing this year, (prior to surgery), and loved it. Really had nothing to do with fads, just made me feel good. I also saw the "fat, sick and nearly dead" video which prompted me to try juicing. I mainly juiced "green", and sometimes added red apples to add a little sweetness. I was doing this at the same time as doing weigh****chers, and knew the points were high because of the carbs, and lack of fiber, but I still did it, included the points into my daily allowance. Anyway, I really miss juicing, and the energy I felt. Something to ask my nutritionist soon.
