Gas and bloating

I eat very few carbohydrates, but it seems like lately if I eat any carbs at all I get the worse gas and bloating. It is painful. I have to take gas x and tums to try and alleviate the pressure. I actually get a tiny distended belly. Any way to prevent this besides not eating any carbs at all. I am almost 7 months post op.

I find I have less issues with complex carbs. If I have white anything (pasta, rice, bread), I'm miserable. Whole wheat works much better for me, and only in moderation.

Keep in mind the whole grains have more fiber, and you need to find a good balance of when and how much roughage you can add to your diet, including fruits and vegetables.

Make sure you are taking your vites, and lots of calcium.

You are only (you're thinking, "Huh? Only?") seven months out. Things are still settling down a bit. I am over two years out, and can pretty much identify what causes me to bloat. I cant tell you when things will settle down, but they will.

Always a learning experience, huh? Haha

If I eat any carbs or sugar,6 hours later I have painful  gas and bloating.  even whole wheat products are a problem, plus sugar alcohols and artificial sweeteners.

The only thing I know to avoid it ,is to not eat those things.  Not there yet myself ,avoidance, but going to have to get there,I believe.

Double scoops of protein gave me issues so I had to cut back to single scoops.

Do you chew gum?  That took me ages to figure out as being a problem for me as I didn't think of it when I was going over what I ate, but xylitol did horrible things to me.

So strange how we are all different. Xylitol does not do anything to me. I've read that your body does get used to it, but I never had initial gas or bloating with it either.

I chewed gum xylitol in for years and eventually became intolerant to from having it for so long. In the end even just one stick or two would be enough to cause me issues.
