I am having surgery on Dec 20 and have been wondering if Iced tea was an acceptable drink afterwards. I know getting your water in is very important and I am a huge iced tea drinker and was wondering if it is ok after surgery?

Caffeine slows down healing, so get some decaf tea bags and brew that instead and drink to your hearts content.

I drink about a gallon of iced tea each and every day. I sweeten it with Splenda, but it's fully caffeinated.

I've been brewing decaf tea/ iced tea for 4+ yrs.  No sweetner, no lemon. Just plain Decaf tea.

A lot of Doctors want you to start out with Decaf because they are concerned about the diuretic effect of caffeine. I've seen a lot of people say that if you are already used to regular tea it won't really be a problem.

I think whatever helps you get liquids in is fine. If your OK with decaf I would use that until you have an easier time getting your liquids in. (For me that was a couple of months after surgery).
