Hi guys,
Tomorrow I'll be starting a week long low carb challenge.   If you'd like to join in the rules are under 50 carbs a day, mostly protein shakes and low carb food. No more popcorn, CarbSmart ice cream and very limited peanuts for me.

BITES: (DS Maintenance Mode)
B - 2 protein coffees (60g)
2nd B - bacon and egg
S - protein coffee (30g)
S - peanuts
L - protein shake (30g)
S - edamame
​S - cheese and Scoops
D - fish nuggets and tossed salad
S - 

VITES:
morning batch: done
4 calcium batches: done
evening batch: starting after dinner
heme iron: pending

EXERCITES:
none

I had a lazy day today.  The most effort was cooking a roast and the chicken already came in a foil dish so that was within my culinary capability, he he.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your "Bites."  They are very helpful.  I have seen others mention protein coffee, where can I get protein coffee?  I am six weeks out from my surgery and having difficulty getting my protein.  I had also not thought of the CarbSmart ice cream!

Protein Coffee    

brew a pot of your favorite coffee - we like chocolate raspberry (you can also brew chai tea and use in place of coffee)

In a 20 oz blender bottle with wire ball, add 2 oz of heavy whipping cream and 2 oz of cool water, or 4 oz of half & half, a packet of Truvia or Splenda, a couple of dashes of cinnamon, and a heaping scoop of Syntrax Nectar vanilla protein powder.
Shake about 5 seconds to blend
Pour the protein slurry into a huge mug and fill to the top with coffee
Sir to blend and enjoy! 


Always add hot liquid to cold protein slurry to keep the protein from clumping. 

Always check the ingredients of a protein powder before you buy it to ensure the first ingredient listed is whey protein isolate. Don't trust the splashy label on the front.

Thank you so much - I will definitely try this when I get over my nausea!  I have a large container of vanilla whey protein isolate.

So far so good on preparing for the challenge. I've been drinking plain water and things are moving in the right direction!  WOOT!

Snacks" cheese, handful of nuts, cold cuts

Exercites: just lots of housework today!!
