6 months post op......90 LBS LOST!!!!!
Hi everyone, I am soooo pleased to share that I have lost 90 lbs at smack 6 months post op.
here's the thing: I haven't exercised or did anything extraordinary up until at least 5 months out. A couple of weeks ago I decided to power walk every morning for 1 hour. Previous to walking, I found I had many stalls. With the walking however, the lbs are melting off. My concern; for now I love the walking but what happens if I stop. My track record for exercising long term is not the best. If I stop for whatever reason, will I gain the weight back and more. Sometimes I feel I should just not exercise and lose what i lose so not to be dissappointed. What are your thoughts?????
Congratulations on a great first 6 months.
I'm only at 7 months but I think as long as you are enjoying the walking you should keep it
up. It sound helpful toward****ting you goal weight but not strictly necessary for the weight loss.
I've only been able to exercise for short periods in my first 7 months and it doesn't seem to have
been a problem for my weight loss.
Stopping would just slow you down not lead to regain. I think that has more to do with how you
manage your diet when you decide you want to stop losing. Just take advantage of the mal absorption
and you should be OK. A lot of vets describe a bounce back after they stop losing. I'm not sure how that
plays in to the whole picture.
Congratulations and keep walking. Walking will keep that metabolism burning. : )

I am almost seven months out and I just started exercising last week. The weight is still coming off. It never really stopped. It did slow a little...about 7-10 pounds a month right now. I was on a mini stall and when I worked out I started dropping immediately. I also went back to the basics of my diet. I was getting off track. My ass was *****ing at me for that one. Exercising is good for you. Even if you just do it a couple times a week it is good for your health. Just do not beat yourself up when you don't. Personally, since the weight loss I have so much energy I cannot wait to use it doing exercise. I get so bored sitting at home in the evenings now. I go nuts. Exercising keeps me occupied.
Tomorrow I will be 2 weeks out and I have lost 9 pounds. Lol. I had surgery and was 227 morning of. When ileft the hospital I was 250.5. Lol how you take stuff out and throw it away and im heavier. But I could see how bloated I was especially my stomach. My binder is 42-72 inches. It barley closed when I came home now its like 10 inches over lapping.
