Dry Calcium Citrate vs. Liquid Cal/Mag/D One better thant the other?

For the nearly five years I've been switched, I have had a terrible time with Calcium levels.  I have been using Euate CAlcium Citrate + D, but I cannot get my parathyroid to shut up.  I have tested high PTH for three of the four and a half years I've been switched.

Has anyone found that liquid Cal/Mag/D works better for them?  I'm thinking of ordering Bluebonnet brand.

Recommendations?

Could your PTH just be stuck in high gear but you really aren't leaching calcium from bone?

No, I wish!

My DEXA scan results are what got me the osteopenia diagnosis, along with the high PTH.

My PCP says it is quite possible that I'm just not absorbing the dry.  She sent me to an endo...

Do I really need to go into how that went?

Hi!

Bluebonnet tastes great, especially the Blueberry flavor. They're all really good and I tolerated it well. I was switched 13 years ago and have some osteopenia. I was mildly osteoporotic, now osteopenic. If your bones are ok, then you are smart to be proactive.

Btw, I was last on this site 6 months ago and saw you there. We sound like kindred spirits!

I've always wondered about combining other vits with calcium.  Every where I read about taking calcium (with Magnesium to offset the constipation) by itself, no more than 600 mg at a time (I double it due to malabsorbtion) because it binds with other vitamins and makes them useless.  So that is calcium (with Mag) by itself, 3 or 4 times a day.

I've seen  calcium with vit D in it, and I wondered if the D gets bound by the calcium and makes it useless.  I would enjoy seeing anyone's comment on this issue.

Good question to post.  Thanks.

Gina often recommends taking the 'stubborn' vitamin (ie the one you're low in) in the middle of the night away from anything else and on an empty stomach to improve absorption.

As i understand it, the D actually helps the calcium and magnesium.  T

That's why you see so many Cal/Mag/D combination pills.

Thanks to everyone for your replies.

I'm going to take the last remaining Calcium Citrate pills I have.  I just put in an order for Lifetime liquid Cal/Mag/D.  It was the brand I had once before, not the Bluebonnet.  I got a bottle last week at the health food store and about had a stroke when I saw the price - $15.00 a bottle.  I can get the same thing on Lucky vitamin for $8.69 per bottle. Just ordered my first two today, will stock up as soon as money from selling an item I had is freed up ( out of town check, 10 day hold!)

Also need to get some nightgowns and dusters for after surgery.  In case you haven't seen my posts, I'm having excess skin removed on December 27th.
