Have any of you gained weight after your DS?
For years I was 165 no matter what I ate/did. I kept creeping up until this September I weighed and was 183. I freaked! I started jogging daily/"lifestyle changing" (instead of "dieting") and have lost 16 pounds now! I'm soooo proud! :D

I had my BPD/DS on Jan 31, 2001. I have maintained a 5 pound window from about 133-138 for 12 years and have eaten pretty much what I wanted. I have suddenly over the last 3 -4 months packed on about 10 pounds and I'm not sure why. I know it's still in the acceptable range but I hate it. I guess I will need to go back to the basics and lose the extra pounds. I'm not a happy camper.
No more than normal bouncing around from 5-7 pounds. Most non-WLS people do the same thing.
The DS is...IMHO...as good as it says it is in all the research. With the DS, for the first time in my life, I can eat like a normal person. That said, learning and keeping up with the extra nutritional requirements is the hardest part of it. You have to be committed to the lifestyle, and have sort of an "anal" personality in order to make sure you are successful with it, and keep yourself healthy.
You *will* lose the weight, with minimal regain on the DS, but you have to "work it" in terms of nutrition. Taking vites *daily* and good nutrition are non-negotiable with the DS.
