good responses and I will just add to make sure you are getting 100+ oz of liquid a day. Sometimes dehydration makes us think we are hungry when we are really thirsty. And yes,the more carbs you eat the hungrier you will. Be for everything.

Lengthening your common channel will lead to weight GAIN, not loss. I agree with those who've said talk to Vitalady about your deficiencies, and look at your eating habits for the weight gain. At this point, I wouldn't consider the risks of any revision worthwhile.

Honestly, I"m not sure it's worth the surgical risks for 35 pounds... but only you can be the judge of that.

If you're having vitamin issues, then you want to get those resolved ideally before any surgery regardless.  The lengthening would lead to more absorption and less weight loss...so I would assume your nutritional issues are pretty major to consider that.  Focus on getting healthy labs first...weight loss second.

I would also consult with some more experienced revision surgeons on the West coast just to hear their thoughts.... Rabkin and Keshishian come to mind.

Lap-Band June 14, 2001. Dr. Rumbaut, Monterrey, Mexico.
Lap-Band removed after 7 years and converted to Sleeve Gastrectomy on July 7, 2008 by Dr. Roslin.  I've had three happy healthy Lap-Band babies.... and one VSG baby.  5 years out from revision to VSG.  Gained 55 pounds in past 5 months, now considering DS. :(
