I got my 3 month lab results (pasted below). They messed up my PT & PTT, so I'll have to redo those -- unless those can wait until my 6-month labs??.

There were a few results that I wasn't sure what to do with...

* It says my Vitamin K is 157 pg/ml. I can't find where on my spreadsheet that should go. Is that the same as Vitamin K-1?

* Vitamin D, 25-OH TOTAL = 85, Vitamin D, 25-OH, D3 = 85, and Vitamin D, 25-OH, D2 = < 4 . I wasn't sure where to put the last two in my lab spreadsheet.

Here's what I take every day. What else should I be adding based on my labs? And are there any I need to stop/reduce?

2 Multivitamins
2000 mg of Calcium Citrate
100,000 IU of Vitamin D3 (dry)
400 IU of Vitamin E (dry)
5000 mcg of Vitamin B-12 (sublingual)
5000 mcg of Biotin
15 mg of Zinc Gluconate
25,000 IU of Vitamin A (dry)
1,000 IU of Vitamin K1
18 mg of Iron (Ferronyl) - Once I run out of these, I have Vitalady Tendor Iron's (60 mg)

On my list to buy are: Copper 5 mg, B Complex 55, Magnesium Citrate 250 mg, Vitamin C 1,000 mg, Vitamin K-2, Vitamin B-1 100mg, and Vitamin B-9 1,200 mcg. Do I need all of these?

Thanks for your help!! Here are my results.

Your 3-month labs are a lot better than mine were at this point. Good job!

I think you can wait on PT and PTT. You have your vitamin K1 and it's the same as vit K your lab is listing. There really isn't a lab that directly measures vit K2. Osteocalcin is as close as we have right now for evidence that K2 is working. Lower osteocalcin is better. Similar to lower PTH is better.

Your D3 is looking really good. You could probably reduce to 50,000 IUs a day. Record the Vit D, 25-OH.

When you switch to the Tender iron, you will be shooting for 30mg or 5 capsules a day. Start slow and build up to that dose over a few weeks. Keep an eye on the iron, ferritin, hemoglobin and hematocrit.

You may not B-complex for long. Once you get the B labs up you might be able to maintain just with your multies and maybe a separate B1 capsule. I still need separate B9/folic acid and B1, but no B-complex. You may just want to watch B9 at 6 months.

You might want to increase your calcium by one more dose of 600mg.

Add a couple more protein shakes a day. Protein, albumin and prealbumin are slipping.

You might be able to only take B12 every other day. Your level is great. Maybe you can maintain with just a little less.

Add 100mg of zinc a day.

Check you multies and see how much selenium is in them. You may just need time to bring it up.

Add 3 to 5mg of copper a day.

I think that's all I got.  : )

Can I take all 5 Tender Iron pills at once? (300 mg total per day, right?)

How many are you taking at a time currently?  If you are not currently taking this iron, I would start off slow.  1 for a few days and the 2 and so on.  It can cause stomach upset, so gradually increasing the dose may help.  You need to make sure to take it seperate from calcium.  I take proferrin forte alone...and wait at least an hour to take anything else.  Often times, I will take it when I get up in the middle of the night for a drink of water.

Taking 1 per day now. I will gradually increase, but eventually I can take all 5 Tender Irons at once?

Yes, you can take them all at one time. I know folks that separate them into 2 batches but it's not necessary.

I'll add that you need to increase your vit A.  Double it.
