8 years post-op
My Surgiversary came and went over Halloween, and I'm still the same ol me. Life has a way of happening, and I try my best to continue paying it forward by coming here and a couple of DS FB pages, if only trying to add answers to similar questions I had so many years ago.
8 years now, I'm up 20 lbs from my lowest, and not at all worried about it. One thing I'm quite happy about is that I got back some boobage. At my lowest I was a size 6-8, and my mom recently confessed that she thought I looked like a scarecrow. She said I look better now as a 10-12. Part of me wants to claim single digits, but the other part of me agrees with her.
I eat what I want and keep active, but without formal exercise. I'm like the energizer bunny on my own without a treadmill, weights, or a gym. Don't need it - don't want it. I try to be mindful of my carb amounts, but I don't count them. I do, however, keep a mental tally of my daily protein and have powder on top of the fridge in case I don't eat enough.
That's my life as a long-term post op. I'm happy and healthy, and delighted with my DS.
