hello

I'm 5 years post DS
wondering about salt - is eating too much salt just as unhealthy as to any other person, or is there malabsorption in this area as well?

thanks

I had high blood pressure before my surgery so at my last appointment I asked Dr. K about it and he said salt isn't an issue anymore because of the malabsorption....

Man I wish that person didn't deactivate so fast, because this is a great topic, so forgive me for trailing on your reply, clutterbunny.

My BP has always been low, but about a year or so post-op, it was dipping so low that I was getting faint.  Upping my salt intake was all I needed to do to raise my sodium.  I don't have to supplement - just enjoy the flavor enhancement it has to offer.
