Pre-Surgery Multivitamin Suggestions?

I'm on the road to a DS and I'm working on losing some weight prior and getting into optimum health before the surgery (you know, as optimal as a 'super morbidly obese' person can get :-/ ). I'm wondering if any of you might have a good daily multi-vitamin suggestion. I just ran out of my vitamins and thought I'd see if there is some that are more beneficial than others as I prepare my body for surgery/weight loss.

I would take a regular multi and add D and a full dose of calcium as well.  Brand?  Just get the store brand.

I'm with Patty.  You don't need to spend a lot.  A Centrum equivalent with some extra calcium and D is all you need.  Calcium and D are commonly low in the general population, especially this time of year.

Thanks! I'm heading to the store now so I'm just going to get a standard multi-vitamin. I'll also get calcium and vitamin D. Is there a 2 in 1 for that or are they two different pills? I'm so clueless about this stuff

I would go to GNC or VitaminShoppe and get dry 5,000IU vitamin D3. Some of the other stores may have it but that's where I get D3 for my normie son. He seems to do well keeping winter colds and change-of-season allergies at bay with the addition of D3.

For calcium I would look for Citracal Maximum and start taking 2 a day and see how your system handles it.

I would also look for Feosol or BiFera at Walgreens. Take one a day.

I agree with everyone about a Centrum look-alike multi.

Good luck!  : )

I went with a centrum-ish vitamin and calcium citrate (600mg) with D3 (800 iu). Multi has 500mg calcium and 1000 iu D3. I figure that's a good start for now until my Dr gives me more guidance on what he wants me to be taking. I meet with the nutritionist next Mon so I'm going to ask her what she advises.
