Fissures, Fistulas and Digestive Enzymes vs a Colostomy = Help Needed!
I have tried two rounds of Colestid to attempt to reduce acid. It didn't make any difference though.
I didn't realize that a temporary colostomy was a different procedure than a permanent one so that is quite comforting! At least I know I can't get forced into leaving it in.
At this point I'm on the fence between telling my doctors that I'm done with all treatments (after the seton removal of course) and giving in and doing the temporary colostomy. I'm just SO tired of being in pain all day everyday. Blah!
I don't know anything about digestive enzymes, sorry, but your story reminded me of a friend I knew many many years ago. She also suffered with anal fissures for years and had several unsuccessful surgeries. Out of desperation, she got an aloe plant and scrapped the gel like fluid out of the stalk and inserted it. Within several weeks of this home grown treatment, her fissure was cured. I just thought this might be of interest to you. Good luck and I hope you get well soon.
DEAR. SWEET. GOD. OF. ALL. THINGS. HOLY!!!! Fissures are the WORST WORST WOOOOOORST pain in the WORLD. Dear god woman I'm so sorry for the pain you are in. A good portion of the last year of my life has been spent squatting in a hot bath tub screaming in pain... I for SURE feel your pain!!!
Did the botox help a LITTLE bit?! a liquid only diet helped for a bit but of course there is pure terror anytime you have to go to the bathroom. I vote doing ANYTHING and exhausting every single option and dollar amount before going for the bag. This is by far the worst pain ever and my heart goes out to you! I hope they fix you ASAP and you are no longer in pain or at LEAST have an answer that doesn't include a bag.
Wishing you the best!!!
Anyway, botox didn't even kind of help. It was a worthless procedure for me. I just got my scrip for my pancreatic enzymes so I'm literally praying this will give me some sort of relief. I'm literally at my wits end.
Thank you again for your sweet words. Its times like these that they are desperately needed
