I'm getting my first bone density scan on Friday. When they called to confirm my appointment, the recording said to stop calcium supplements 24 hours before the scan.

I know it's only one day, but skipping my calcium makes me nervous. LOL. But my question is: Since my multivitamin also has calcium in it, do I also have to skip those for the day, too?

I would just to be on the save side. I'm not sure how much of a difference it could make though. It seems that every place you go, has a different instruction.

Just remember to do the same next time you go.

I know what you mean about getting nervous. lol  You'll be fine. Get right back on board with your calcium after the scan is over.

We have Bone Density scans in the office I work in and it is important to stop it much like it is important to stop all vitamins 24 hours before labs.

Hope all goes well with your scan.
