Labs prior to surgery
I'm seeing my PCP tomorrow, for a regularly scheduled appointment, but she will be drawing the labs that my surgeon requested. The surgeon wants a C-Peptide, Lipid profile, and HgA1c. I know what these three tests are for, and why they're being done, but should I ask for any other labs?
It seems like it would be a good idea to know if I have any vitamin deficiencies now. I don't think I do, but how would I know? I've been anemic at different times in the past, so it seems like it'd be good to know my starting point and maybe take some vitamins in the next month or two to try and get back up into range prior to surgery if there are any issues.
Has anyone done this? What labs do I need to be looking at for now? Any advice?
Thanks in advance!

Here's some info to give you an idea, but your surgeon may have specific labs he wants to see so check as you don't want to have to go and get them done twice! ;-) http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/DS/4443682/DS-Labs/#367444 88

I can't answer everything but I did have labs before surgery and I was very very low on vitamin D so they had me taking 40,000IU to get it up as much as I could before surgery. I never knew until then that anything was wrong with my vitamin D.
