Hi everyone,  I was just wondering if this is normal.  I had my DS completed 5 1/2 weeks ago.  I have been at a stall for 2 1/2 weeks with my weight loss.  I know this can happen but didn't think it would so soon.  Is this normal?  Trying not to be discouraged and stay focused.

Some loose a few pounds every few days, then have a plateau, and start all over again.  Im what they call a stair stepper.  I loose eight to ten pounds over three or four days and then I dont loose any for three or four weeks, and then it starts all over again.  Im used to it now but in the begining it was irritating because I think most loose the other way, and I just didnt.  I dont mind my way now, because Im not constintly on the scale checking to see if Ive lost.  I used to have a problem in the past with being a scale checker, before my DS.  Those days are over and Im soooo glad.  You can drive yourself crazy living like that.  Now every few weeks I'll catch my reflection in the mirror, and I can tell I have lost weight in my face, I get on the scale, and boom, I have a few days of loosing a hunk of weight, then its over, and I forget about it for awhile, and dont obsess.... Good luck...

Weight loss is really a huge stumbling block. As reduction is at extreme quick level in the start but at some peak time it happens that we stop reducing even by inches. This happens because of the odd fats in our body takes time to reduce. So just don't get disappointed and keep our head up and make it possible. Yes it will definitely take time but will go right.

It's completely normal.  From what I've learned, during rapid weight loss, your body needs to take a breather every now and then to regroup.  Just make sure you're not in starvation mode.  Be sure to get your fluids and protein.  Try to relax and enjoy!

I agree you can drive yourself crazy. This happens. How are you doing on liquids and protein?

Yup...very common between the 3-6 weeks to get your first little stall. It will all start again. There is no way you will not lose...trust your DS and work it. =)

I am like J ashley- I will lose 6-8 lbs then stall for several weeks. Just when I think I won't lose anymore I lose another 6-8lbs. And when I am not losing I can tell that my body is shifting inches and weight around. I told my husband the other day that I honestly couldn't tell that I was losing  weight any more. Several days later I saw a lot of friends and they all committed on how awesome I looked. It was a great compliment. I went to the chiropractor and he commented on how small my hips were getting- the chiro was my son so he can get away with saying that!!! What I am trying to say is sometimes we can't see things that our family and friends see. They can be a good gauge for us.

I am not a fast loser but I seem to be steady. I started at 283  6 months ago and am down to 213. My next big goal is to get under the 200s- something I haven't seen in many many years. I have a hard time with being patient but that is my counsel to you- be patient with yourself and this surgery. It will happen and in the meantime just enjoy the ride. You will start to feel great, be able to do things you haven't done in years and you will be looking awesome in no time.

Good luck to  you my friend!
