SO, my Aunt likes to go crazy with online shopping. She is so excited about my surgery and weight loss. She told me to go onto her account on a big woman's clothing site and buy 250.00 of clothes that I can alter. So I went shopping and bought them all in a 2x thinking that they will just barely fit and that will give me room to shrink without having to alter them right away. (some 2x fit but most are a little too tight to look really good or for me to feel comfortable). She added another 150.00 of some she picked out too which just about made me cry. She is the bestest Aunt ever. enlightened The clothes came in and guess what...........THEY ALL FIT perfectly. I was like WHAT! ALso....today....I was able to wrap myself in a normal bath towel and tuck it. I was dancing a jig when I got out of the shower. LOL. LOVE YOU DS! LOVE YOU!  XOXOXOXO!

That is so great. Congrats! I can't wait to get to clothes shop for smaller sizes even if I will not be in them long :) I have a stash of a few sizes so It will be a little while before I get to shop. My first victory will be when the pair of jeans I'm wearing now falls off me :P I can pull them up and down without unzipping them. I was bursting out of them in May. :)

Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing!

You guys are doing awesome! Wish I had an aunt like that! My husband loves the fact that I am losing but sure hates the Macys bill! Getting into smaller sizes is such a wonderful feeling. I bought a pair of 16 jeans about a month ago and they are my new best friend! I love them- just wish I could afford more than 1 pair!

And don't be surprised if those 2x's don't last too terribly long. Hopefully you are a good seamstress and can take them in!

I am having very mixed feelings about this clothes thing.  First of all...it's very overwhelming!  It was so much easier when I was fat....shopping in the big girls' section, there's such a smaller selection, and it was a matter of, whatever fit and looked half decent, I bought.  Now shopping in the regular departments, i don't know where to begin!  I bought a pair of size 16 jeans a month ago, and they're already too big!  No need to unbutton or unzip them, and they're falling off!  However, I did wear a new size 14 dress the other night, and I must admit, I looked and felt spectacular!  I guess i will adjust...

Congrats on your new wardrobe, Irish, and if your aunt would like someone else to buy for...lol!  Enjoy!

It does feel pretty awesome.  I thought the afore-mentioned jeans were 14s.  when I took them off last night and saw the tag, I said "these are 16s!  No wonder they're too big!".  Wha what?????  Never, in a million years, would I ever think those words would come outta my mouth!

Wow, congratulations!  That is such a great feeling!  I am shopping in thrift stores for my clothes while I'm transitioning down.  I don't want to spend much money for things that will not fit in a few weeks or months.  And, I'll be saving that money for the BIG shopping spree once I reach my goal weight.  You have a wonderful Aunt and it is wonderful that she is this supportive of your efforts.
