I was on a narcotic pain pump after surgery for 24 hours I honestly don't remember much. I slept a lot. Also, I have a very high pain threshold therefore I wouldn't be a good person to ask about pain.
My stool is normal based on my diet. I eat high protein - high fat. I go about 2-3 times a day. If I eat simple carbs I get sick. I've learned what I can and can't eat. It takes time.
I've had no malnutrition issues yet. Follow the vitamin regimen that works for your body. Track your blood labs, be your own advocate.

The only good part about about the malnutrition part in my end is that I'm already tracking my vitamins due to a genetic condition that I have where I hold on to too much iron. My hematologist wrote a letter supporting this surgery because it would impair my iron uptake. (I guess malabsorption isn't bad all the time.)
From your perspective, is it difficult to gain weight due to the malabsorption component?
