I really am needing some help with my protein intake.  I can not stomach the sweet sweet shakes or the REAL fruity liquid drinks.  Does anyone have any suggestions?? i really need to be getting more protein but all are too sweet and make me throw up :(

HELP  please!

I HATE PROTEIN SHAKES.  AND ISOPURE.

That being said, I have found one that "sucks less"- EAS soy protein powder.  The best concoction for me, is some cold coffee, a dash of cream, a scoop of the powder and ice run through the magic bullet.  It tastes like a coffee milkshake.

Good luck!

i'll have to try that because i LOVE coffee.  Is it unflavored powder? and is it real sweet? for some reason my stomach can't do real sweet after my DS.

I haven't found unflavored.....  I use the vanilla or chocolate.  The vanilla is less sweet.  But it doesn't have the funky smell or after taste of the whey powders.

I use the JRobb unflavored egg protein.  Very easy to then flavor to your taste!

Eggs!  They're the most bioavailable food source according to DSfacts.  You can read more here http://www.dsfacts.com/protein.html

If you're early out egg drop soup, Greek yogurt, cheese triangles and shrimp are also good soft sources of protein.  You can throw some shredded cheese into scrambled eggs to boost the protein and make it more yummy!! :-)

NOW Unflavored Whey Protein Isolate. The best I've found that doesn't make me sick and can be tailored to my own tastes. I get it auto delivered every month on Amazon. With subscribe and save (prime membership), it ends up being about $47 for 5 lbs. Even my super protein picky husband (non-ds runner) likes it. I use it for protein coffee, but hubs goes the smoothie route with fruit. I love the versatility of unflavored.

I just looked this up on Amazon.  The price of 47 dollars for a 5 lbs bucket was too good to not investigate.

Amazon is showing a 5 lb bucket priced at 59.99 with free shipping.  When I compared it to my stand by protein powder, which gets 30 grms of protein per scoop verses 25 gms in NOW, both for 60 dollars...  I'm not seeing the benefit of this powder.

How are you getting it at 47 dollars for 5 lbs?

If you have an amazon prime membership and sign up with eligible subscribe and save (auto delivery) and order 5 or more items on that auto delivery, then you get 20% off the entire order. I was paying full price (and still would) for almost a year, until it recently became available on the subscribe and save program and I jumped all over that! It does not make me or my husband nauseous and we don't get gas from it, so I believe it's a great quality and value for us based on the countless proteins we've used that have been less expensive, and less tolerable with my system. If you have a cheaper source that works with your system, then go for it! I just wanted to give the OP another option that may work.

Thanks for the explanation.

It’s a good quality protein.  And at your price point, it was a much better value than my own protein powder.  I was going to jump on it and buy a year’s worth for 47 dollars a bucket.
