A short update from the Darkside
For those that remember me.....it's been a very long time since I've posted. I remember when checking in hourly was a daily occurrence. When I was looking into surgery the DS was an EVIL surgery....and those who had it were doomed to al ife of gas and bathroom issues. Fortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. Since surgery, I've moved on with life...really! I've lost a ton of weight (kept most of it off...except a darn pesky 20lbs....it makes me feel like a moo cow...but compared to the other 280 I've kept off...i'm ok). Losing weight allowed me to moved cross country (yay warm weather), go back to school, and start a very successful business. I work hard...BUT I'm rewarded for it. I do not have bathroom issues, or fart every 2 seconds. I do not take antibotics, and even though I'm locked in meeting rooms with clients for hours on end, I never have issues. (BTW I gained the 20 lbs because I eat way too much sugar and drink way too much ice tea- even though it's sugar free....the extra caffine makes me hungry all the time).
Surgery was life changing not because I lost weight (which was great), but as I said before, it allowed me to move on with life.
Hope you're all well!
You've been an inspiration, Scottie. Thanks for posting here tonight. And, thanks for bringing Vitalady to this board when you did. I will be forever grateful to you for that.

Scottie, great to hear from you.
Glad to hear you are doing SO well (okay, except for those pesky 20 lbs of bounce back).
Thanks for being such an inspiration.
