Dr. Rabkin/ St. Mary's Hospital anyone use them?

Hi All,

I met with Dr. Rabkin yesterday. Based on my consultation with him, and all the input you guys shared here on my post (thank you for that, I've decided that DS switch is the best choice for me .

I'm kaiser referral, and never been to this hospital before. Can you tell me your experience with Dr. Rabkin and St. Mary's ?

I won't be having the sugary till hopefully Jan. so want to get as much info ahead of time.

Is the delay til January your choice or is that how long the wait is with dr rabkins? I am wondering because I have my psych appointment next week and then they are referring me to dr rabkins.

 

Dr. Rabkin did my revision 5  years ago and I figure he saved my life and gave me a life I could never have had. IMO he is the best there is; you have chosen very wisely.

Waiting till Jan. is my choice. It sounds like once the referral to Fremont is done/consult with Dr. Rabkin then you have about 3 months till surgery. I'm choosing to wait a little longer to loose more weight and prepare for surgery .

Long standing rave reviews sit with Rabkins.  You've got one of the best.  If Kaiser tries denying, CA is very patient-friendly with appeals.

I am lucky because Kaiser referred the surgery for me, so I don't think I will be hit with a appeal.

Dr Rabkin's team is AWESOME. I had a revision by him back in June and doing very well. For insurance purposes I was at a different hospital, but had outpatient labs at St Mary's before I left town and they were great in that outpt department. I have heard wonderful reviews of St Mary's.

His support meetings are awesome. I was fortunate enough to attend one pre-op. I wish I lived closer.

I had no complications with him or his staff. Your in great hands !

 

I used both for my surgery and couldn't be happier.  The staff at St Mary's is obesity friendly and was wonderful.  They didn't have to do much for me though because my husband was there 24/7 and did most everything for me.  I love Dr Rabkin.  He is the best surgeon and I trust him completely.  I feel blessed to have had him as my surgeon.  He's a smart man that wants to be the best.
