vitamin
I shopped around A LOT to get the best price on each thing I needed. I bought stuff from amazon, Costco, drvita.com, GNC, and Vitalady.
As far as what to take, it's pretty individualized. My surgeon only told me to take a multivitamin and calcium. But I'm taking much more and I'm still not sure that's enough (I'm fairly new post-op):
Dry A, D, E, K
Multivitamin (3x day)
Calcium
Iron
B-12
Biotin
Zinc

I'd definitely start with the Vitalady prepackaged vitamins, at least until you know how much of what to take once you've had your first labs done (her doses are very sensible baseline ones). Most of us take at least 50,000 iu of dry vitamin D with quite a few taking 100,000 iu a day. Her prepackaged vites also include a daily total of 100,000 iu of vitamin A.
You can get her stuff here https://vitalady.com/vitanews/pre-packaged-regimens/
To bundle your own vitamins something like this would help you package them up http://www.amazon.com/MedCenter-System-31-Medication-Managem ent/dp/B000RZPL0M/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1379528920&sr=8-2&k eywords=med+center
The Anabox has 5 compartments (I have it) whereas the Med Center only has 4. You'll probably end up having to squish the tablets in to make them all fit.
BTW I just spent an hour boxing up 2 week's worth of tablets!!
FWIW I've read folk saying that they've managed to save a few bucks over the Vitalady price but it really took A LOT of shopping around to achieve and probably wasn't worth it. HTH.

I like the new pic - you're well on track to getting back to that.

I'm 5 months out. It seems like most Doctors have their own ideas, mostly not good ones. The list from my Doc was straight from the Gastric Bypass booklet. See what the Doc gives you but then add what you think his list might be lacking. Definitely dry A, D, K. Probably dry E too but not many people end up having trouble with that. Calcium - calcium citrate - 1800 to 2400 per day broken up into doses of about 600 each, Iron - not with calcium, B12, Multivitamin - regular dose twice a day. I'm sure I missed something there but other people will chime in.
I think what really happens is that you do your best until you get your first labs and then you aggressively supplement based on your labs.
If you have the opportunity for pre-op labs you might start addressing anything that is low or low "normal". I wish I had worked on my D3 levels before surgery. They were just a little low then but I would have liked to start post op from a better position.
Oh, I buy from where ever I can find the cheapest on the web and from VitaLady mostly for Vit K. For calcium I still use Citrical Max but have seen some posts about cheaper calcium citrate at places like Costco. I will eventually change that to a reputable low cost alternative. Same with Multivit - Currently on centrum - may look for something cheaper in the long run. Hard to tell.
I stick with Vitalady for several reasons. She's one of us and she loves us, she is an American owned small business not some mega store that pays it's employees slave wages, she's done all the shopping and research for us and found the best vitamins for the buck. Last but not least, I'm basically lazy and she provides me everything I need from the right vitamins to protein powder--one stop shopping.

Oh and you need to add vitamin K2 to the prepackaged vites from Vitalady as they only include K1. She sells K2 so you can get it shipped together.
