FOR OLD TIMERS, HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU? NEED HELP
I've never had it to that degree, but I can tell when my GI tract is "off". Stool odor is different and starts getting very watery. It usually happens when I've not been eating yogurt lately, so I get a couple big bottles of kefir to load the probiotics for me. Keeping a good population of flora is key in your instestines. Some take pills for this, but I prefer natural yogurt and kefir, myself, plus they have a good protein value.

I'm thinking probiotics - lots steadily! and like your doc has said protein, and more protein. No sweets or carbs especially simple carbs at all.
I need to do this too. Sorry you had to experience this but I am positive if you take heed you will make a full recover and be even better than when you began.

Im 10 years out and yes i have had this problem, the junk food is the worst eg. sweets jelly beans any lollies chocolate, also i have had a lactose intolerence since my ds so that might be an issue for you too. also maybe you should get this cheaked out because after ds you can get a twisted bowel because when you loose the weight the rest of you shrinks but the bowel does not and it can twist on its self any change in bowel habits can be very serious and i had a bowel blockage if you have any pain with it go and see about it. If your stomach feels a bit bad just have a couple of spoon of yoghert that helps alot. hope this helps.
