I week out

I week down from my surgery, whoo hoo.  I have to say the pain is really manageable.  The hardest part is trying to figure out what  food your body will accept.  Really trying to take things slow and listen to my body.  Hydration is my key now.  I am not rushing protein quite yet for I really had some ill effects from my protein shake and yogurt this week.  Maybe try again next week.  The other thing is I am trying to get rid of this 30lb weight gain from the hospital.  Any tips or suggestions welcome.

The weight gain from the hospital will go away quickly enough.  One week from surgery, you should still be on liquids, mostly.  I found I could handle egg drop soup, unflavored yogurt, a spoonful of hummus, ice pops, jello, and almond milk.  Keep sipping, and things will get easier.  See if you can get up to 30g of protein in a day.  Welcome to the dark side!  Once you find that balance, everything will begin melting away.

I hated that no one thought to tell me I would come out of the operation heavier than when I went in. LOL.

It does help when you are looking at your weight loss for the first month though. Don't worry about doing
anything special. The surgery weight will come off on its own. Your right to focus on liquids now.

I threw up my first protein shake. Give it time it will come. The pre-mixed ones may be too heavy until you heal.
I eventually ended up with one I mix with water.

Sounds like you have a great attitude for starting out. Welcome.

Could it be fluids they pumped in to keep you hydrated?  Good luck with it!  And, really work this time of wt loss when it just drops off of you.  Once that wt loss train slows down and stops, it is MUCH harder to get the wt off.  Every lb you can work off right now, you will be light years ahead of where you would be if it didn't come off and you had to work to get it off later.

Best of luck to you!
