Sleeve Stretched! Revision and DS in Nov!

I think it's a great thing for lightweights, that will eventually replace the band as it continues to butcher people from the inside-out.    For heavyweights, though, a one-time DS is the way to go.  The 2-part is only necessary if there is a true medical reason for it.  Usually, anymore, it's because the surgeon knows the VSG and doesn't have the skill to do a DS, so they hope they can get away with it.

Congratulations.  I'm glad that I came on this site after I get approval to go from a distal RNY to a sleeve.  People on her made me think about how stupid that was. If my pouch is still really small what good is it going to do to take away the malabsorption part and make me another small stomach.  I feel that the doctor didn't really have my weight loss and my best interest on his mind which became obvious when I asked him did he think I would loose weight with the conversion. He said probably not and it was up too me to choose not to over eat and eat the wrong things!  WTF IF I COULD DO ALL THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE NEEDED WLS to begin with.  I think Dr. are uncomfortable doing the DS so the try to push other surgeries off on people even though they know it is not going to permanently resolve their medical issues like diabetes.

How hard is it to get approved for the DS from the Sleeve?  I am interested in doing this, as well.

Depends on your insurance policy. Fortunately it's the easiest revision out there.
