I have been I would say an average loser compared to some- I am a revision , had my surgery on March 19th and have lost 62lbs but I have been stuck at 222 for 2 1/2  weeks now and its driving me crazy. I know if I shake it up I might get under that 220 mark- just need some suggestions as to how I can shake it up! So I'm coming to my friends here on the board and see what you have to say. I am totally open to ideas.

Thanks

Sharon

Add a protein shake or 2 made with heavy cream and water.  What have you been doing? What's your routine?

I would kick my good eating habits in the pants during a stubborn stall.  My tool of choice was Krispy Kreme donuts.  I would have a giant poo and the scale would start moving the next day.  They were magical I tell ya.

You slay me!  Rolling on the floor...

I could see how this works.  Whenever I stall (and these days, I stall for over 2 months), I add carbs.  I don't eat sugar free for a week or two.  And add more breading to my meats, or a piece of toast every other day - and the scale starts to go down.  Once it starts down by 2 lbs, I ease back to low carbing.

There are several fitness and weight loss experts who say that keeping the body guessing, shocking the body with higher calories or carbs once in a while, helps with weight loss.

But I didn't jerk my eating habits till I was 3-4 weeks into a stall.   I lose weight by stair step pattern - I stall for 2 -3 weeks, then lose 6 lbs over night.  Then stall for 2 weeks, then drop another 5 lbs over night.  So I've learned not to focus on it until it ha**** the 1 month mark.  Then I take matters into my own hands.

ok... i'm a newbie... only a few weeks out but does that really help? I lost 14 pounds the first week and then have been stalled for 2 weeks and i don't know what's wrong :(  I have been taking all my vitamins and REALLY trying to stay up on my protein and get in as much as possible and NO movement :(

I did the KK stall buster method my entire first year if my stall lasted longer than 2 weeks.  Ricotta cheese is a great way to get in protein.  It has 28g of protein in a single cup.  Make ricotta fluff (mix ricotta with SF instant pudding and enough cream or milk to get the thickness you want.  Someone actually made ice cream with it (on my list of things to try).  It was my go-to for protien because I could take a giant spoonfull or two on the go and it satisfied my sweet cravings.

On a flip note - the stalls are indeed normal, and your body is still changing despite the weight loss.  Try on some new clothes every time this happens, and you'll discover you're down a size or three.  This is  a huge mood lifter.
