DS Surgeon who does revisions in Texas (or maybe out of state?)
Does anyone know of a really super awesome DS surgeon in Texas? Everything I've read on the boards talks about Dr. Stewart, but sadly he passed away last month so I'm not sure who would be "second best".
To further complicate things, I'm looking to revise from the lap band to a DS so I need to hunt down a surgeon that does both revisions and DS.
Any suggestions? I've heard that I may need to go out of state but then I'm wondering how does that even work? How do you arrange for that? Do you have to make multiple trips to this other state? How soon can you fly or be driven home a long distance (think 1000+ miles) after surgery? Isn't pulmonary embolism a major risk and if so, wouldn't flying or long car rides be a no-no?
I would still call Dr Stewart's practice and see if his associate does band to DS revisions. He may not be doing RNY to DS but perhaps band to DS.

Cindy, google weight loss surgery and proboards. There is a post there about Dr. Stewart's partner, Dr. Ayoola and his stance on being able to do revisions. It's post #22.
Good luck in finding a revision surgeon.
