Last and Final...
10 pounds! it seems like it's taking longer than it should. I have lost about 20 pounds since May (after stabilizing at the same weight for a year with the VSG and then started to gain) so I know I'm being impatient. I keep fluctuating between 134 and 132.6 and wondering if this is where my weight point will settle. I'm 3 months out from revision from VSG to DS and realize I have 9 more months before the honeymoon is over. I eat about 1500 to 2000 calories per day, get at least 100 g protein, all vites (had my three month blood work done yesterday).
I have never drank a lot of fluids and don't now either. I was reading that once a person can eat 100 g protein and regular food that much of that food gives you water. Is it still really important to get in at least 8-10 cups per day?
Any timeline stories of the last 10 pounds with the DS would be very helpful.
Thank you!
You need NO less than 64 oz of fluid a day. More is better! Sounds like your protein in take is good. Please list what vitamins you are taking & your labs when you get them back. Nothing against Dr. Kim, but he is new with the DS's. (in fact I was told that he has stopped doing the DS--is that correct?)

Hi Brenda,
I'll definitely post my lab results. Should have them by Monday.
I think he still does the DS.

If you are taking 1 pill that has all the ADEK in it, then you will not get anywhere near the amounts that you need.
You need to be able to adjust each vitamin up or down as time goes by, and you can't do that when it is all in one pill.
Just for a comparison: most DSers will take Dry A 25,000 IU per day at minimum.
Dry D 50,000 IU per day at minimum.
Dry E 800 mg per day
K1 would depend on how your labs are.(not everyone needs it)
Many take K2 because it helps us absorb the calcium, depending on what kind of iron you are taking you may or you may not absorb it. Also most need to take zinc everyday and copper.
Also 2,000 mg of calcium citrate is recommended, don't forget we don't absorb it all so you need to take more then the normal person would.
