Haven't posted in many years. Low Vit D
Some of the reason is loyalty to Michelle, Vitalady. She's one of us and she is a small business. I like to support small business whenever possible.

Vitalady has everything we need - in the dry form and/or higher dosages that most other places don't carry. I find it much more convenient to order it all from one reliable source.
Paying once for shipping is better than multiple smaller shipments. I am in Canada so can't take advantage of the free shipping options, but if you are in the US, Vitalady has good shipping deals for larger orders.
recently, there have been some news stories on surprise ingredients found in some supplements. Quality control and reliability is important to me. I know that Michelle takes great care to deal only with trusted suppliers and would only sell items she or Don would be prepared to take themselves, and in most cases she does take the same items. Peace of mind is what I am buying
And as Gina has said, Michelle is one of us, and I feel good in supporting her. It is also selfish - I want her company to be around providing for me for many years to come. This is a long term relationship
I'm not a DSer yet, but I've struggled with low D, and elevated PTH, with my VSG. (Have you had your PTH checked? (Parathyroid hormone? If it's elevated...it means that your body is likely breaking down bone...not good. :()
Anyway, Michelle helped me get things back on track about 4-1/2 years ago, and I let things slide a bit...and am now on 100,000 IU/week to try and fix things. My maintenance was 5000 IU/day, but it wasn't enough (obviously).
If oral supplementation doesn't work (be sure to buy dry D3 if you have a DS), then you might want to ask your doc about injections.
Lap-Band June 14, 2001. Dr. Rumbaut, Monterrey, Mexico.
Lap-Band removed after 7 years and converted to Sleeve Gastrectomy on July 7, 2008 by Dr. Roslin. I've had three happy healthy Lap-Band babies.... and one VSG baby. 5 years out from revision to VSG. Gained 55 pounds in past 5 months, now considering DS. :(
Thank you, Yes I have an elevated PTH level.I finally went to an endocrinologist this past year and he indicated it was elevated because of my low Vit D. I don't know why it didn't click with me to not take gel caps. They have been ordering pharmaceutical grade Vit D. I have been taking 190,000 iu weekly but my D dropped again. This makes total since. I ordered some Dry D3 right after I read the post. Thank you to all of your advice.
