has anyone used the antibiotic Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate)??

I am taking it (1000 - 62.5) for an infection in my foot. Part of my foot turned a very nice shade of red that went along with a sore I developed on the bottom of my foot. I've had augmentin before my surgery but it occurred to me today that I may have a different reaction this time.

The redness seems to be receding and is not as sharp a red as it was so things aren't getting any worse but I wish they were getting better faster. I'm on 2 a day since Wednesday - back to the Doctor this wednesday.

If it doesn't work I will have to get IV antibiotics. Once the line is in I can take them at home but it is more than I want to deal with at this time. Any thoughts?

Augmentin is an excellent antibiotic. There is no reason you shouldn't absorb it with your DS as it isn't a "time released" medication.

Foot infections can be slow to resolve, and stubborn. I hope the augmentin does the trick.

Thanks Larra,

I'm hoping for the best. The red is receding so it is doing the job. Back to the Doctor on Wednesday to get a more educated opinion. :)
