Did anyone cheat on their pre op diet?

The diet is supposed to be a protein shake for breakfast, a protein shake for lunch, a salad with protein for dinner, and (if needed ) a protein shake as an evening snack. I have diabetes and I have to take my meds in the morning and the evening. I don't know if protein shakes are going to hold up and I fear low sugar episodes. I thought I was done with all of my questions, but I guess I'll be hitting up my coordinator today.

In reality you will be doing the liquid thing for  a whole month because two weeks before two weeks after. I personally did fine for three days then I hit a wall and had to CHEW and swallow something! So I opted for eating chicken or beef but only protien. I ate sushi as my "last" meal before surgery.

Id say do you best low carbing and stop eating 24 hours before.

BTW I lost 23 lbs on my two week liquid diet.

I decided to add a reasonably sized piece of fruit to the morning meal and a yogurt with lunch and dinner to ward of low sugar issues. Here we go. Day 1...

Fruit is a poor choice. You need to go as low-carb as possible. Have some green leafys or some MEAT!

I used my pre-op diet as a time to adjust my eating habits to what would be needed after surgery. I tried different types of protein shakes and bars. I cut back to almost no carbs. I upped my water intake. I started eating slowly and listening to when my stomach was full.

Make sure you at least do these things, so you'll have a heard start on your lifestyle changes. You don't want to be post-op and trying to figure out what's next while you should just be working on healing.
