Crazy Question
I was wondering if anyone else has ever had a problem with having an orange tongue. I am due for my bloodwork so I am thinking it may be a vitamin deficiency. It's primarily the sides of the tongue. I can brush till the cows come home and it does away not completely go an hour or so but then it's back. I tried to search online but really didn't find much Info
Thank you
Kathy
After my WLS, my doctor and surgeon were constantly looking at my tongue for signs of different things. It is not unusual to have changes, especially if you aren't long out from surgery or take antibiotics. It can disturb the balance of bacteria in your body (especially your mouth) and you can develop thrush, or even an orange tongue (I've heard of yellow, green or even black tongues). Do you happen to still be doing chewable vitamins? Maybe switch to something that you swallow if that's an option. From what I've seen and heard about this type of thing, it is harmless, but annoying, and will eventually go away once things stabilize. Also - you might try a tongue scraper in lieu of a brush to see if that gives you any improvement.
