HI,  you dont need to go to that surgeon any dr can order a RX.  the only problem is most drs don't know about it. It is a compounded RX of Vit D3.   my RX is 300,000 IU/mL so I take 1.5  mLs to get 450,000 IU for my injection.  i still take the 50,000 IU oral dry per day as  when i tried to remove it my levels dropped. like everything else on here, we are all individual, so what works for one won't work for others.  there is also a Vit A injection....Aquasol, which is IM also, but any dr and any compounding pharmacy can also make that for you.  Most people dont know about compounding pharmacies.   There is a Vit K sub q, (not IM)  I only know one person who is taking injections for Vit K, which is not very common for dsers.  I have gone back and forth on this injection thing.....

Out of curiosity, what is your vitamin D level currently? I've never met anybody taking that much dry D before. I wasn't able to get my D to the level I needed until I got my calcium intake right (which then lowered my PTH, which then boosted my D).

My level was 54 taking 200,000 a day. Want me more around 75, so up to 300,000. My PTH is ok. I take 2 calcium citrate tabs 3 times a day along with 200 magnesium citrate each time. Also started on strontium citrate for bones too. Doing natural progesterone replacement too.

Hi Brenda. Julie R was having trouble getting her D to come up but I believe she's having better luck since she added vitamin K2 to her regimen. You've gotten some good ideas with the injections, just thought I'd ask about the K2.

well,  most people, surgeons and drs, endos. don't.  there is a test called a fat malabsorption test.  You are testing your ablitly to absorb fat via  a vit d2 which is in oil base (they also use this for chron's CF, etc)  you take a 50K vit d2 (rx oil base, to detect fat malabsorption) the night before and are drawn about 12 hrs later (up to 16)  the dr wanted me to take the 100K dose.....my results proved that i didnt absorb d2 (rx in oil base)  my reuslts were < 2 ng/mL post dose (for 50K, remember i took 100K)...so it is lower than the lowest reportable result which for this assay is 2 ng/mL the reference range is > 50 ng/mL ..... so don't do this to yourself you would become deficient, if you want to prove it have this test performed.....

Hi,

That is interesting too. Didn't know there was a test like this. Thank-you for posting.
