anyone get BCBS to cover your vits?
yes insurance will cover vit/minerals but only if they are a rx, so that kinda leaves us in the learch. for example vit b 12 injections are covered, vit D injections are covered. Proferrin forte is covered, etc, all rx are covered. Now the OTC ones you can submit to your FSA, with tthe correct documentation
Yep! I use a Walgreens prescription store card and get their 90 day supply offer and get proferrin For $10- ... I think. My Oxford prescription co-pays are mostly more expensive than using my Walgreens card. I've also got a letter from my doc stating that I needed everything under the sun to lose & keep my weight off - also all vitamins & supplements. Then I am able to submit to my flex spending plan for reimbursement.
Coupons added to store specials like buy one/get one can save plenty of money. That's when I stock up.
My D2 (ergocalciferol) Rx was covered under private insurance, is not covered under Medicare Advantage.
Go figure.
