Odor
I'm so sorry to hear about your DH passing. Maybe you can have lots of DS friendly stuff on hand to help reduce the bad carb consumption a little (I know going cold turkey right now would be tough, but maybe you can curb things a little using such tricks).
I find burning joss sticks quite good - especially now that spring is starting to arrive so you can have the window open and they're not quite so overpowering.

The odor lingers and permeates the entire house.
Yes, and it's like it has a life of it's own. It just keeps traveling through the house, absorbing oxygen as it drifts.
I open a window, turn on the bathroom fan.
I spray with Ozium immediately after - turn off the fan, shut the door, and run.
It takes me 30 minutes in the morning. I find that flushing in stages helps. Don't let it steep in the bowl like a fine cup of tea....
You could have a build up of bad bacteria and a round of Flagyl will help the smell. Then build up the good bacteria with probiotics or yogurt. But normally, yes we are a bit more flowery than others. I have bath spray that I get at Walgreens - currently really like the vanilla. Lori likes the bubble gum, also tried the cool ocean. I just get regular sprays for the restroom at work. Now, all the ladies use them. Generally, I have 2 varieties to choose from.
