Crazy Question
I definitely get hungry - but I didn't for a few months after the DS for sure. Eating wasn't pleasurable at all, and sometimes it downright made me feel icky (not sick or nauseous, just icky). I wish I didn't feel hunger now...but when I get hungry, I get hungry hungry hungry!!! And as soon as I eat something, I get gurgles in my stomach and the back of my throat. Seems like I get that way every couple of hours or so. Nothing keeps me full for very long - but then again, it only takes a little bit to make me full.
i guess it was about 6 - 8 weeks out that one day i realized i was hungry and wanted food. now, 4 years later i get hungry. i munch all day long on protein items.
there are days when food is just too much of a chore, so i would rather drink my protein instead. thankfully those days don't happen very often.

Early out, I didnt get hungry in the traditional sense- I got NASTY. All of a sudden, I would just be grouchy and irritable and just feel hollow. I quickly learned to eat every few hours and just basically keep "emergency protein" with me at all times. Now, at 3 years out, yes, I get hungry. And it will go from "oh, I could eat" to "Im going to chew my own arm off" hunger in about 2 minutes flat. Thats only if I dont keep my regular schedule of eating a few bites of protein here and there all day though.
Edit to add- there are definitely days where I just dont care about food at all, and could easily go all day without eating a bite. Those are probably a 40% of the time thing. The rest of the time, Im just so used to my schedule now, I just keep nibbling.
I am nearly 5 years out and still get hungry about every 2-3 hours. I usually eat one item at a time. My tuna salad is my go-to food, both at home and at work. I also have pepperoni, salami, sausage, and several kinds of cheese in my fridge. I buy them unsliced, slice them myself, and take some to work. I also buy bags of peanuts from Trader Joe's and place them in containers: one for home, the other for work.
If I don't eat anything after about 3-4 hours, I really get famished. But the restriction in my stomach helps prevent me from eating more than I should.
