I am a fried i am over eating.

for breakfast i had a protein shake at 6am about 8 i had 3 fried eggs 3 bacons and half wheat toast with butter

10 am i had a cuttie orange and 1 banana nut cheerio's treat. Is that to much? now i will have nothing until lunch about noon. I do not feel like i have over eating. I just feel mentally like i am eating all the time.

I am 8 months post op. I work 2 full time jobs so i feel i eat all the time.monday and friday i work 16 hrs (11p -7a & 8a-5p) stright. so them days i really feel i just eat non stop just to stay a wake. The food i eat on them days are not the best i do make sure i start with protein.

I worked long hours at night for years so I get the eating to stay awake thing.  You aren't eating too much.  You could make better choices by replacing the toast, orange, and cheerios treat with protein foods.

I don't think you're eating too much, however I think you need to alter your snack choices.  Instead of fruit and cheerio's treats, try swapping something like nuts, cheese, yogurt, a protein bar, and maybe another shake to keep your energy level up with two jobs.  It's okay to eat every couple of hours as long as there's some protein value in what you're eating.  You may find that you can get in 100g without the protein shakes at all.

Are you actually eating because you are hungry or are you bored? If it's the latter, then you need to figure out something to keep your hands off the food. :)

I also echo the other messages about choosing better snacks--specifically things that have more protein/fat that help you to feel satiated.

I eat all day too, but my cooler is always jammed packed with protein.  Some of the easy stuff for my purse was jerky and nuts, no need to keep cold.  For the cooler, cheese, sandwich made from 4-6 slices of cheese and 4 oz of lunch meat.  I put mayo on each layer of cheese and then the meat in the center.  It's between 48-60 grams of protein.  I can only eat 1/2 at a time, but 90-120 min later, I can eat the other 1/2 (I have cheddar/hot pepper/swiss).  I slice up sausage and cook it, and bring it in the cooler, generally a full long piece is 30 grams, 6-8 slices of bacon (I cook 3 lbs at a time), I always have a protein bar or 2 in my purse and in my cooler.  Now, that my oranges are ripe, I may have 1 or 2 every other day, but I'm almost 5 yrs out.  I do eat bananas a few times a week as I have a problem keeping my potassium up even with taking prescription K-Tabs daily.

You are making carb choices.  If you would replace all those carbs with protein you would do much much better.  Oranges, bananas, cereal treats?  I would eat cheese, peperonni, popcorn, as snacks rather than the carbs.

I think your choices are too high in calories.  First check out the protein shake and see what the calories are.  I would assume around 200-300.  Your breakfast then adds at least another 550-600.  that is 750 calories on the low end and you have not even added your morning snack yet. Figure out what your daily calorie intake is and develop your meals and snacks around it.   Your mouth is a perfect calorie counter, there is no cheating the system.  Your diet is 90% of your weight loss, exercise is 10%.  For a little while you may have to use a journal system or a website calorie tracker such as fit day but you will soon find that one day it just all comes natural to you.

I remember after I had my DS surgery and went into see my Doctor for a visit.  He asked me what I had for breakfast and I said 2 eggs.  He asked "Why 2"?  He was right, one satisfied me and was enough.  I now find that I can eat just a bite or two of something and walk away.  I NEVER thought I would ever be able to have that type of control.  I was wrong.

How do you figure out what ur daily intake should be?

I feel like i should go take a NUT class some where.

I thought I fruits/veg were unlimited  as long a I ate my protein first.I feel so lost now on my diet.

ok here is what i ate to day.

6 am protein shake, 8 am 4 eggs/4 bacon 1/2 wheat toast. 10 am orange/1 cheerios treat. 1230 1 chicken breast.carrots and green beans. 3 pm cheese 445 pm left work went to bed, got up at 9 45 pm went to work, we r having a potluck so i brought some tuna salad. i have had some tuna salad with mayo and relish added, baked beans and some potato salad. all that was before midnight. I also brought 2 banana's and a left over chicken breast for dinner just in case no protein was brought to the potluck. Don't bother with nutritionists, for they don't understand what a DSer needs, and will have you eating low fat, malnourished

and constipated in no time.  Fruits aren't as bad as straight sweets, but they do carry a lot of natural sugars and should be enjoyed sparingly because the sugars absorb into your body easier, so I count them close to crackers and cookies.  I count green veggies as the free foods to eat with the protein.   I never count calories, but am mindful of the simple carbs, and I do count protein grams.
