Does anybody have too large clothes that they cannot let go of?

I have a number of higher-end sweaters that I really like, but are much too large for me now.  Still, I can't let go of them.  They are styled like tunics, so I still wear them, even though they are "sloppy" on my new frame.

Does anyone else do this?

I am still new to this way of life. I have lost at least one size and my clothes look horrible on me but don't feel ready to get smaller clothes. Part of me feels like this won't last so don't waste money and another part says a smaller size is too small. I do have a bunch of smaller jeans that I have saved over the years so I won't be naked LOL. I would keep the sweaters until they fall off you and get old, but that is me,

These are pre-op sweaters, some as large as 4X and 5X.  I think they are still OK as tunics, so that's what I do.    I rewardrobed five times during my weight loss phase, by purchasing thrift and consignment shop clothing.

I have lost so much weight that many of my clothes fall off or fit sloppy lose. I can't bear to part with them though... because I am not about to run out and buy new clothes until I can't use the old ones anymore. After they won't fit at all then I will donate them to charity and buy new, better fitting clothes.

Mine are *way* too big, but the slouchy tunic thing seems to work!  I frequent Goodwill, St. Vincent dePaul and the like, so rewardrobing has not been terribly expensive for me. you can find quality clothing there, you just have to have time to hunt for it.  Plus, many of my better quality clothes I put on consignment , and used the proceeds to buy "new" items from  the shop.

I have a beaded silk gown I never got to wear.  First it was too small then I never had a formal occasion and it was too big.  It's still in my closet!  I still have a couple sweaters and sweatshirts left over.  Usually reserved for slouching around the house.  I'm a thrift store shopper too.  I'd be naked if I had to pay full price!

I just can't do thrift stores etc not for clothes anyway. I have to buy them new. Just wired that way.

Get this, my brother was supposed to get married in october 1 month before my surgery. His fiance wanted me to be in the wedding and the so I bought the $200 brides made dress in a size 26. Then they reschedule it for next October! It's going to cost a fortune to alter it!!!!!

ashleamarcelle-

I had a beautiful after-five dress that I never got to wear, too!  I put it on consignment and made a little bit of my investment back, which I turned around to buy clothes that fit. Will the bridal shop let you return it and get the same dress in a smaller size?  That could save you money in alterations.

I don't know if they will let me exchange it for a smaller one I had already taken the tags off. I was kind of hoping to have enough material left over to make another dress or a fancy long shawl to help hide my tattoos in this strapless floor length gown.
